It's a Long Slow-Moving Trip

Well, it's hard to make progress when absolutely NO effort is made....
My journey back to good health, perhaps, needs to begin with my spiritual health. My physical health would then more naturally follow. I think I will try again - this time, spending at least as much effort on my spiritual fitness as I do on my physical fitness.
Obviously, I did not reach my short-term goals, and this long delay will probably keep my from making my original long-term goal, but we shall see.
First, I need to get rid of sugar in my beverages. If I can just make one small change in my diet (for the better) at a time, I can make progress towards my goal. So Change #1 - Drink water! Coffee is okay too, and unsweetened tea, but mostly water. After I get that one down, I will move on to a new change.

Tuesday, March 23, 2010

Today was a pretty good day, until night... when I drank sweet tea and had two bowls of soup with cornbread! Up until then, I had done well... I went to Joy's after dropping Jenny off at school and did Wii Fit Plus, had breakfast of eggs and lean sausage with water, later had lunch at Subway - 6" meat and veggies with non-fat red wine vinaigrette and diet coke. Drank water at other times during the day. Was down 2.2 pounds from Sunday!

Today, the Lord's Day, March 21, 2010 - I weigh in at 223.3 pounds. I have set a long-term goal of weighing 135 by this time next year - that's 88.3 pounds in 12 months, or 7.4 pounds per month, or 1.84 pounds per week. However, that's alot to take in at once, so I have set short-term goals too. First, I plan to lose 20 pounds before April 30, when I am going to Pensacola Beach!! That is 3.33 pounds a week for the next 6 weeks, a little high for long-term, but reasonable to expect in the first 6 weeks, when weight will come off easier. I have also planned a system of rewards for each 10 pounds I lose! First, after losing the first 10 pounds, I will get a much-needed HAIRCUT!!! After the next 10 (making my total weight-loss 20 pounds), I will get a manicure and pedicure - just in time for Pensacola Beach!!! :)
If I can find my tape measure, I will post my measurements, and enjoy watching them go down as my weight goes down, and my health and happiness go up! Wish me SUCCESS!
